Vintage Griswold Large Block Logo #12 Cast Iron Skillet with Heat Ring

This Griswold Large Block Logo #12 Cast Iron Skillet, with Heat Ring, has been very well cared for and is in exceptionally nice condition. It's free of cracks, rust, repairs, and pitting.

The cooking surface has a few utensil marks and a very small milling blemish on the edge of cooking surface toward the handle side. However, the cooking surface is super smooth and the excellent, original milling marks are still visible on on the cooking surface.

The bottom of the skillet is also in exceptionally nice condition. The Griswold skillet has the Large Block Logo on the center of the bottom and the traditional Big Block Logo information surrounding the center.

The Griswold Large Block Logo and the lettering and numbers are very crisp and clear. The bottom has a very light rock but is less than the thickness of a business card. The skillet has been professionally cleaned and seasoned. The cleaning as done with a two step combination of a lye bath and electrolysis tank. The seasoning has been done three times using canola oil.

However, since it was cleaned I have used it several times to cook steaks so its had a little use since it was cleaned. However, I have carefully cleaned it after each use to the seasoning wasn't disturbed. It does a great job on steaks. This exceptionally nice Griswold Large Block Logo #12 Skillet, with Heat Ring, is being offered at no reserve.

It's in great condition and could be used in the kitchen or put on display in a collection. I HAD AN INQUIRY FROM A GOOD GRISWOLD DEALER ASKING ABOUT THIS EXCEPTIONALLY NICE. HE SAW A SMALL, LIGHT COLORED PARTICLE ON THE COOKING SURFACE AND WONDERED WHAT IT WAS.

IT SHOWS IN MY PHOTO OF THE COOKING SURFACE. THE PARTICLE IN THE PHOTO WAS LOCATED AN INCH OR TWO IN FROM THE SIDE WHERE THE LIFTING TAB IS.

WHEN I LOOKED AT THE SKILLE. T, I FOUND IT WAS A SMALL PARTICLE OF SAW DUST, I THINK IT CAME FROM A SMALL PILE OF SAWDUST ON MY WORK BENCH. IF I HAD KNOWN IT WAS THERE I WOULD HAVE BRUSHED IT OFF BEFORE TAKING MY PHOTOS. IT JUST ON THE SURFACE AND EASILY CAME OFF WITH A GENTLE WIPE.
