Feel free to view those completed listings, and other resources as a comparison to this piece. The spider logo itself is in great shape with only very minimal wear on the left side. All of the webbing, the spider's antennae and legs, the hole in the handle of the skillet which is the spider's body, and the tiny ERIE on the body are intact and visible.
There is very minimal wear on the E on the spider body - see pictures for details. Also some minimal wear on the upper left region in the webbing area - see pictures for details. This type of wear is extremely common to this type of logo as it protrudes from the surface of the skillet, making it very prone to wear, especially if the skillet was used regularly. Often times these logos have been severely damaged by wear or pitting from years of use. This skillet, however, has survived for nearly 130 years, and is in very nice shape. Please use the pictures provided and other resources to determine for yourself the condition of this piece. As for the rest of the skillet, there are no cracks or repairs. It sits flat on a glass cooktop. There is the very slightest wobble if pressure is applied to the area where the handle attaches and the opposite side, or top, of the skillet. That being said, it is barely noticeable, and it is somewhat difficult to fit a single sheet of paper under the edge. The cooking surface is very smooth with some evidence of utensil marks, which are common to all used vintage cast iron skillets. On the back, the number 8 at the bottom, as well as the "ERIE" at the top appear very crisp and not worn. There appears to be some very slight wear in the area between the 8 and the spider logo. This is extremely common from use, and is often much more pronounced. Please view the pictures, as they will give much more detail and you can draw you own conclusions as to the overall condition of this beautiful piece. This piece will be carefully packaged and double boxed with multiple layers of packing material.
