Patented by Griswold on Sept. 22, 1925, and made in Erie, PA, the lid advertises it as a GRISWOLD No.
10 SELF BASTING SKILLET COVER and includes the number 470 on the underside. It measures 13-1/2 at its widest point. He bottom of the #10 skillet states that it's a model 716B measuring 12-3/4" wide from pouring spout to pouring spout, 2-1/2" high and 16-3/4 from the tip of the handle to the opposite side.
To my eyes, it's in excellent vintage condition and has been recently re-seasoned. There is a slight buildup of cooking grease on the underside of the skillet, not the least bit sticky, what I would call "cooked on".She passed in 1988 at the age of 83. I've had it ever since, but I never use it and my kids definitely don't want it, so I'm hoping some appreciative soul will take good care of it.
