Griswold Cast Waffle Iron, #8, 3 Pcs, 885, 886, 975c, NICE! Original paint

WE'LL BOTH BE SURE YOU'RE IN GREAT HANDS! This is a very old Griswold waffle maker....... I have had this since the 1980s, acquired during the height of my antique collecting, as I travelled about the Midwest on demolition work, and hauling timber and forest products into Chicago from northern states. I would stop at antique stores every time I came across one.... Some were large and they would go into or onto whatever trailer I was using! I once brought a railroad car coupler back from Mitchell S. I can remember where I bought some of the articles....... This Griswold piece came from Big Rapids, Michigan! It is painted in "sea foam green" color...... The paint has small nicks from age, although it is in pretty good shape!

The interior surface that is where waffle batter was poured is clean and bare! From my years of storage, it had a light brown patina of rust from the humidity in the air...... This would happen to any bare metal surface.......... I used a small stainless steel wire brush to carefully burnish the surface back into a clean normal cast iron bare type of finish! It could be seasoned with oil and actually used again if you desired!

I believe this would work on any stove, but in all likelihood, it was used on a coal or wood kitchen stove..... 2 wood handles that can be removed from the waffle maker halves, for cleaning! This beautiful antique item is in perfect shape!!

There are NO cracks or chips on any of the 3 pieces of this set! You would love this for your collection!
