Hammered Cast Iron Dutch Oven No. 8 Unmarked Pointy Handle California

Hammered Cast Iron Dutch Oven Unmarked - Pointy Handle California maker. This item has been determined to be from the California foundry from the late 1890 to the early 1900's. It is not marked but all things point to this manufacture origin. The "hammered" finish is strong and very nicely done while the lid handle is shaped and not the ordinary round. Inside the the lid the basting holes are irregular in both location and sizes but very evident. There is pitting in the bottom of the cooking pan itself but given its age and found condition that is to be expected.

It is 9.75" wide and 4" deep. Overall, the pan has been electronically cleaned and seasoned.

It sits flat, has no spin/wobble or cracks. Beside the pitting there is one casting flaw on the lid near the handle but it is hard to see unless you are actually looking for it. (full disclosure) This is a RARE RARE RARE piece to find in the wild and even more so since it is hammered.
