Very Nice Hard to Find Cahill #155. Excellent condition, sits level, hairline crack, no rust, clean and ready to use or display.

Cahill Iron Works Cast Iron Bundt #1 55. Item: Cahill Iron Works cast iron BUNDT.

Circa: Post Civil War - 1922. Description: Very nice and hard to find Cahill #155 bundt pan. Sits flat with very little movement when pressure is applied to the top rim of the pan. There is hairline crack that can be seen in the last photo. I was able to get lighting on it so that it shows up. Would make a nice display, or use to cook on. John Thomas Cahill was one of many foundry (Cahill Iron Works) folks located in the City of Chattanooga. He prospered in his business after the Civil War. Cahill Iron Works is known for their fire place andions, grates, surrounds, enameled sinks, bath tubs, water fountains, and cast iron store fronts and not so much for their skillets or hollowware. Cahill Iron Works pre-dated Blacklock and Lodge operations.

The early Lodge high dome dutch over looks very much like the Cahill high dome dutch oven with the lid having the baster drippers. Which was well before the Lodge or Blacklock foundry came into being. Guaranteed to be authentic vintage Cahill cast iron cookware, which is lighter in weight than the new cast iron.

The craftsmanship, quality, and pride from this era has been lost. Cleaning : I clean all of my cast iron back to the original metal gray casting or as close as I can with electrolysis, and elbow grease.

I perform all my cleaning without the used of any power tools to buff or polish beautifully vintage cast iron. This removes residue, caked on grease, or contaminants from previous use or storage. The new owner can use with confidence in their safety. I season with three coats of solid vegetable shortening in the oven for about 6-9 hours. My cast iron does not appear black, but rather a dark bronze. Perhaps you can say it has been restored as close as possible to its original condition. All the nasty baked on crud and carbon buildup have been cleaned off which leaves you with a nice piece for use. It is ready to be included in your cooking rotation the day it is received. I do not oil my cast iron so to look better for the pictures. I do not varnish, paint, or smoke my cast iron on the inside cooking surface to make it appear shiny and smooth! I will list flaws that are worth noting, or not visible in the pictures. My pictures will have sufficient light to show, and not hide defects and/or problems. The pictures listed are to be considered as a major part of the description.

Therefore you are encouraged to review them, and ask any questions. Again, the pictures are to be considered as part of the description, so please review all pictures. ยท We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
