For your consideration is the pictured beautiful Wapak #4 cast iron skillet in very nice condition. It has no cracks or chips, is level and has no pitting.
It is pretty clean now but does have a few spots of black crust and would benefit from a light cleaning and seasoning. I would like to expand on the "flatness" of skillets in general and this skillet in particular. This skillet is not warped and has obviously never been exposed to rapid heating or cooling, which causes warping.
It is likely the way it came when new from the factory minus a little wear. What it is not is 100% dead flat on a modern glass cooktop.
It is a small skillet and will rock a tiny bit (maybe the thickness of 2-3 sheets of cheap printer paper) when placed on a glass cooktop and pushed down on with one finger at a time around the inside. I understand there are people who may expect 100% rock solid performance in that regard so I want to clear that up. This is an extremely nice original skillet that is not warped and any tiny amount of movement is heat ring wear. I'm confident the winner will be happy with it and it has a 30 day return period if not. If you demand 100% dead flat you could probably get that if you spent 15 careful minutes on the heat ring with a piece of sandpaper but I, personally, would never do that to an original piece.
