This is a "8" size pan and is indicated such by incised "8" on top of handle - The bottom of handle has raised letters "L" and "O" on bottom of handle. I have been stumped on i.

Of pan maker and have thought it could be a very early Erie pan - The raised letters on handle are more typical of the very earliest cast iron manufacture and the handle is almost identical to the Erie handle. The pictures show very well the exact condition and look of pan - The "side by side" photos are comparisons of a known Erie pan on left and this pan on the right. There is a very significant difference in the outer heat rings - The mystery pan on right side shows a beveled heat ring that narrows towards it's top edge - This is an unusual treatment of heat ring and something I have not run across. Condition is very very good and pan has not been restored - It has been cleaned of any buildup and as much of the years of seasoning have been kept intact - It is ready to use.

Rim to rim measurement is 10 1/2 inches diameter - Rim pouring lip to pouring lip is a bit over 11.
