Each individual piece in this casting process is unique, since the sand part of a mold can only be used once. Le Creuset does not appear yet, since they did not acquire Cousances until 1955, and only gradually changed patterns to add their name which took until early 1980's.
The pot is 12 1/4" wide handle to handle, 6" high. Cooking area is 9 1/2" wide x 4 3/8" deep. The cover/lid rim is 1 1/2" deep x 1 1/4" wide, recessed flat drip area 6 1/2 diameter, total lid diameter 9 3/4'. The recessed center section of the lid with it's drip collector bumps, convert condensation (steam) back into liquid during cooking keeping food moist and flavors developed to the max.The pot weighs a total of 10 lbs. Lid 4 lbs, pot 6 lbs.
