Vintage ERIE No 11 Pre Griswold Cast Iron Skillet 1880's FLAT

This is a 2nd series Erie Skillet produced in the late1880's with a outside heat ring, making it around 130 years old. This skillet sits Dead Flat which is nearly unheard of for a pan this large. The measurements are approximately 17 1/2 inches from the end of the handle to the edge of the pan, 13 1/4 inches spout to spout, 2 1/2 inches deep. There is pitting on the logo side of the skillet. This skillet has the wonderful slick smooth cooking surface that the Vintage Erie Cast Iron is known for. The weight of this large pan is only 5 pounds which is great as opposed to the heavier Cast Iron made today. I can't say enough good things about the way that the Erie Cast Iron cooks.

I have restored this skillet using No Chemicals and seasoned it one time with flaxseed oil which is a drying oil that is rich in Omega 3.
