Hard to find Griswold No 14 cast iron skillet lid cover in restored condition. This example has one of its pour spot covers broken off from a fall some time in the past.
While this has created a large chip, upon close inspection, there are no cracks. Lodge and Griswold No 14 lids with work on both No 14 skillets. This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments.This process insures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. One round of seasoning at 450 degrees with Crisco for several hours. No chips, cracks or repairs to the pan. This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, pan may take on a brown color.
