Vintage Griswold No 5 (645/646) Cast Iron Oval Roaster Seasoned Cond

Vintage Griswold No 5 cast iron oval roaster in seasoned condition. It is getting difficult to locate oval roaster in such great condition. Most are snatched up by collectors or passed along in the family.

If one does pop up for sale, they are nowhere as nice as this. Ooking surface is in fantastic condition with only hints of utensil scores and etching from corrosion. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a glass smooth surface. Movement on a granite surface (see photos). The oven has roughly a 6-1/2 quart capacity and is best for a 9-12 pound roast.

No chips, cracks or repairs. This item is from an old collection that was cleaned and seasoned, then stored for many years. Because item was stored for many years, there may be spots of light surface rust. This can generally be washed away then re-seasoned before use. This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details.

Under these lighting conditions, item may take on a brown color. Item is much darker under normal light. Photos are part of the items description.
