Vintage Griswold No 6 Cast Iron Dutch Oven withLettered Cover Restored Condition

This is a hard-to-find Griswold no. 6 Dutch oven 2605 with lettered cover 2604. These small Dutch ovens are just right for smaller families, but are quite hard to find as the oven with lettered cover. This set is up to 100 years old. Overall condition is nice, but the oven has a bit of a wobble on a flat surface. The cover has an area of pitting on the inside, and an odd and hard to see crack around the base of one side of the handle (see photos). The cooking surface has light and near. Glass smooth to the touch. Pot has no ships cracks or repairs. Item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process insures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Item is well seasoned with several rounds of seasoning.

This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item will take on a brown color.
