This is a vintage Griswold Cast Iron Skillet #4 LBL EPU. Grab it now as you may never find another one again! Made in the 1930 to 1939. Smooth bottom and machined cooking surface from the factory. There are no chips, cracks, break, etc.
No outstanding problems to mention, there may be a casting flaw, utensil marks, scratches, dis-colorization, staining, etc. Here or there, which I believe adds a lot of character to the item. Has not been used since the restoration process.Photos were taken indoors in natural light and go a long way to help description. I've restored many of pieces of cast iron cookware. All go through lye bath to remove any crud, seasoning, etc. At least one round in the electrolysis tank, then they are scrubbed by hand using stainless steel pads, stainless steel brushes under cold water to the bare metal finish.
All pieces are run through three rounds of seasoning using cooking oil. Cast iron cookware will last forever when taken care of. These are beautiful quality pieces made right here in the USA. Will be bubble wrapped and surrounded by packing material to ensure they arrive unharmed.
If you have any questions, need additional pictures, or anything else please message me. Thank you for viewing this listing and good luck. I have other cast iron listed if you would like to check it out. Some as old as 120 plus years. And they have seen much use. They will have utensil marks and small scrapes and nicks. We try to point out any significant abnormalities or damage in our listings. When it is stated that the skillet is flat, it means that there is no bow, wobble or spin. It is very rare that a vintage cast iron will have absolutely no movement on a glass surface. Most were not perfect coming out of the foundry.
There will likely be some small amount of movement on a flat surface. I don't accept offers, thus the reason it is turned off.
