Vintage Wagner Sidney O No. 7 Cast Iron Long Griddle Restored Condition c1920s

This is an example of a "WAGNER", Sidney O No 7 cast iron Dutch oven in restored condition. This example was manufactured sometime between 1925 to 1929. This is one of my favorite sizes for the stovetop.

Fits just right, not too big and not heavy. The cooking surface is in great condition with only a few patches containing hints of fine etching from from corrosion.

These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a very smooth surface. The bottom surface has the effects of sulfur corrosion. Sheets of printer paper slipped under one side of the pan stops movement on a polished granite surface.

No chips, cracks or repairs. Test for flatness of skillet. With the skillet resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until pot stops moving. This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments.

This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour.

This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color.
