Vintage Wagner Ware / Griswold No 14 Cast Iron Skillet Ex Restored Cond

This is a Wagner Ware produced Griswold No 14 skillet that was manufactured in the early 1960s. While Wagner used the Griswold No 14 mold to cast this skillet, they removed all the Griswold reference markings.

All Wagner produce cast iron pieces that used the old Griswold molds are far less common than the fully marked Griswold pieces. The cooking surface still retains it original polishing marks. There are a few tiny patches of etching from corrosion and can be seen as dark decolorization spots on the surface. Pan does not sit flat on a polished granite surface and not recommended for use on a ceramic or induction cooktop.

Not an issue for use on a gas range. No chips, cracks or repairs.

This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour.

This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
